Our Mission Statement:
Our Mission Statement:
The mission of our organization is to provide a safe, loving forever home to farm animals that have suffered abuse, neglect, abandonment, are elderly, unwanted or otherwise at risk.
We promise to provide not only for the physical well being of our rescues, but also their mental and emotional wellbeing.
We strive to create a positive environment where people can experience the healing nature of animals.
As we grow and move forward, we would like to implement programs for veterans, children and adults with special needs, senior citizens and those suffering from depression, loneliness or other emotional or mental suffering.
We would also like to provide educational opportunities for the youth and adults to learn the responsibilities of owning farm animals with hands-on experience. We hope to teach compassion towards all animals. We hope that by doing this, by being completely truthful and allowing them the experience, that there will be less unwanted, neglected, abandoned or abused farm animals in the future.

Volunteer Recruitment
Do you love animals of all kinds?
Would you like to make a difference in the lives of animals?
Are you a hard worker, not afraid of physical work and getting dirty?
Can you go with the flow and adapt to change?
Do you have patience?
Do you have a big compassionate heart?
Are you dependable?
Are you conscientious?
Are you honest and trustworthy?
And once again, do you love animals of all kinds?
If you said yes to these questions, then you would be an ideal candidate for a volunteer position at Grateful Heart Animal Sanctuary!
Our rescues need YOU!
We have ongoing volunteer opportunities at our farm animal sanctuary for animal loving people ages 18 and up or ages 9 to 17 when volunteering with a parent or legal guardian.
We ask for a minimum ongoing commitment of one shift per week. There are morning shifts and afternoon shifts 7 days a week. The animals can’t feed and take care of themselves so they rely on those people who truly care about them, 7 days a week, no matter what the weather may be.
We start out all new volunteers with mucking (scooping up animal poop), scrubbing and refilling water troughs and cleaning night enclosures. Once you have all these tasks down and have proven to be reliable, conscientious, and trustworthy you may then have the opportunity, if you wish, to learn how to feed, groom, bathe, exercise, handle and assist with medical needs of our rescues. There are also opportunities to handle animals at off site events.
If this sounds like something you would enjoy and you want to help us make a difference, then please click on the volunteer application below.
